Sweet Corn Soup Recipe

Serves 4

This soup could be made with both canned and fresh sweet corn, but it is definitely much tastier when the corn is fresh.

2 cups fresh sweet corn kernels
1 cups milk
7 cups water
2 tbsp corn flour
Salt, sugar


  • Combine the milk, water and sweet corn, and boil until corn is cooked (could be 5-12 minutes depending on freshness of corn)
  • Take a little of the cooked sweet corn, about half a cup, and blend it mildly
  • Pour it back into the mixture and boil again.
  • Mix the cornflour in half a cup of water and add it to the boiling soup.
  • Add salt and a little bit of sugar
  • Serve hot
